iRig, the guitar-to-ipad/iphone interface has always been a pain in the neck. Hisses, cracks and pops made it – or at least made the unit I purchased – almost useless. Not to talk about the annoying built-in ad feature that tries to connect to IKmultimedia website to push unrequested promos.
On the contrary, Apogee Jam works like a charm, and doesn’t need to be connected to headphones or speakers since it uses the iPad ones
Neither of the two gimmicks – let alone the iPad – would replace a real (even home) recording set, nevertheless those who are on the move will surely enojy a decent – and silent – sound quality.
